COVID-19 Preparedness

Friends & Guests:

Here at The Hartland Inn, we care very deeply about the health and safety of our guests, staff and community. Due to the increasing concern of the Covid-19 Pandemic we closed on March 16, 2020 and shortly after, the governor implemented a state-wide stay at home order. We have taken this issue very seriously.  As we look at re-opening, we have made some changes to accommodations and offerings here at The Hartland. We have been working hard to research all of the new best practices for hotel operations based on Center for Diseases Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommendations and guidelines. We will be complying with all state measures and we have created an action plan that includes new policies and procedures, cleaning methods and training of staff. This action plan will be evaluated frequently. We will have our policies and procedures readily available for guests to review if requested.

The lobby will be closed and we will only be doing a remote check-in. This decreases any communicable risk for our guests and ourselves. A credit card will be required to reserve a room. We cannot accept cash payments at this time. We are asking our guests to respect each other’s space and practice social distancing on the property of 6-10 ft with other guests and staff.

The motel and suites will be open. These rooms are all located outside the main building and are accessible directly from the outside.

Our historic mansion Bed & Breakfast will be closed all of the summer season 2020, and will only re-open when it is safe to do so. It is simply not safe for guests from all over the country to be in a shared space environment of the B&B.

The Stein & Stirrup bar located in the historic mansion will be closed and only offered to guests staying in a room. You will be able to call and place an order and we can bring it to your room.

The outdoor hot tub will be closed for the summer season 2020.

We have implemented enhanced cleaning methods based on best practices recommendations from the CDC, WHO and EPA. Rooms will remain empty for 24 hours before and after a guest has stayed in them. We will not be offering any stay-over cleaning services for guests that are staying for multiple days. This will reduce risk of any exposure between staff and guests. Only approved cleaning products will be used from the EPA’s List N: All products on this list meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Staff has had an enhanced training including, information about the virus Covid-19 and effective ways to prevent the spread of the virus, what to do if exposed, hand hygiene and best practices for extensive cleaning of the rooms including high touch areas.

We are closely monitoring government policy changes, WHO, CDC and EPA guidelines, government mandates and will continue to make changes as necessary or appropriate to our policies and procedures. Please be patient with us as we navigate this unprecedented time. Please call us if you have any questions.
